DNS Flaw Leaves Major Internet Security HoleDNS cache poisoning a major concern for Internet InfrastructureJuly 8, 2008- A flaw in the DNS has been identified by security researcher Dan Kaminsky, director of penetration testing for IOActive leaving vendors scrambling to patch the deficiencies in the DNS protocol subject to cache poisoning exploits. Currently there have been no attempts to exploit the vulnerability in the wild. Kaminsky has purposely not disclosed the flaw, but said the problem has been solved by implementing port randomization.
