Press Release – Video Monetization

Secure64 Enables European Service Provider to Improve Video Monetization

Support of DNS Feature Permits Intelligent Internet Routing

Greenwood Village, CO – December 12, 2017 – Secure64, the leading provider of Genuinely Secure DNS servers, today announced support for EDNS-CLIENT-SUBNET (ECS) in the latest release of its Secure64® DNS Cache™ product.  ECS allows Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to optimize the end user experience for streaming content. This feature is critical to the success of revenue-generating video-on-demand services being rolled out by one of Secure64’s European service provider customers.

“As consumers’ appetite for streaming services has grown, providers have been looking for solutions that would enable them to improve their video quality-of-service.  ECS is one of the many ways Secure64 can dramatically improve the accuracy of DNS by reducing latency, thereby improving the speed at which video content can be delivered,” said Thad Dupper, CEO of Secure64.  “This new DNS Cache feature is key to optimizing the on-device video experience.”

The release of this feature enables a DNS server to communicate a partial client IP address to the Content Delivery Network for certain domains. This allows the CDN to serve the requested content from a server closest to the user. Bandwidth restraints when serving video create a negative user experience; being able to optimize responsiveness greatly improves the customer experience and strengthens the provider’s brand.
