SECURE64 WINS ENTREPRENEURIAL INNOVATION AWARD
Company’s SourceT Micro OS Recognized by Itanium® Solutions Alliance
as foremost solution to produce enhanced business operations in areas
such as increased ROI and IT consolidation
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO – April 17, 2007 – Secure64 Software Corporation, the only software developer with Genuinely Secure™ software technology and server applications that are immune to malware and highly resistant to network attacks, today announced it has won the Entrepreneurial Innovation Award from the Itanium Solutions Alliance. Secure64’s patented SourceT® micro OS won the category’s top prize for its ability to enhance business operations in areas such as IT consolidation, increased ROI, new product development and increased customer satisfaction. Secure64 received a $50,000 cash prize for its first place finish.
The award comes on the heels of Secure64’s successful launch of its new product, Secure64 DNS – the first application offered by Secure64 based on SourceT. SourceT is a Genuinely Secure micro OS that offers a secure, high performance foundation for a wide range of network and server applications. SourceT comprises a secure, scalable and extensible operating system kernel along with an asynchronous, non-blocking, self-protecting network I/O stack.
“We are very honored to receive this award, and are especially proud of what it recognizes in our products,” stated Steve Goodbarn, CEO, Secure64. “Secure64 DNS can be connected directly to the Internet without protection from network security devices and maintains availability under all types of network attacks. SourceT can bring the same security to many other network and server applications.”
The Innovation Contest was open to any solution deployed in an operational configuration using at least one Intel® Itanium® 2 processor, and membership in Alliance was not required. Over 12,000 applications are currently being developed and deployed for Itanium 2-based solutions. Among those entered in the contest, Secure64’s SourceT was ultimately chosen from a select group of seven finalists.
“Secure64’s entry in the Innovation Contest’s Entrepreneurial category is an innovative solution that also has broad, immediate use for IT users around the globe,” said Robin Drummond, Itanium Solutions Alliance president. “Secure64’s SourceT micro operating system builds upon the inherent capabilities of the Intel Itanium architecture to provide increased defense against network attacks in mission-critical computing.”
Key characteristics of the SourceT micro OS include:
- Fully authenticated boot process eliminates rootkits
- Secured runtime environment prohibits malware
- Protected highest privilege level prevents machine compromise
- Secured file system safely stores secrets
- Self-protecting I/O stack resists network attacks
- Defined authorization categories minimizes illegal access
The panel of judges included prominent members of the technology and academic communities, including executives from Intel, Symantec, IDC and Computer Associates, the co-founder and head of the Ph.D. graduate school of economics, computer science and robotics at the University of Versailles, and the managing director for the Gelato Foundation.
Judging criteria used in the Itanium Solutions Alliance Innovation Contest included how the solution uses inherent features of Itanium, the results produced by the solution, the cost/benefits of the solution, difficulty of the challenge addressed by the solution and originality.
