Death by a Thousand Paper Cuts
Denial of service attacks against the DNS have continued to grow in scope, volume and sophistication. A recent type of denial of service attack targets the DNS application itself, sending attack packets to consume the CPU and other resources within the server. These attacks, Pseudo Random Sub Domains (PRSD), bypass front end firewalls and cannot be blocked by solutions that utilize front end rules and filters only.
This mini-white paper describes the exclusive Secure64 Overload Defense which blocks PRSDs and is available in the Secure64® DNS Cache server.
